Sorry About the Abrupt Stop

There was a knock on the front door. Since we live so far away, I wondered who would be here. I looked to see if Nicholas was expecting anyone, because I obviously wasn't. He quickly told me to go to the basement and hide. I knew something was wrong. He had a look of worry in his eyes. I had never seen that before. That's when I started to worry myself. He flipped a switch and grabbed my hand. We flew down the stairs. He pulled me into a room and locked the door.

He reached into his picket and pulled out a square device. It opened and showed the front steps. A man was standing there with a letter in his hand. He was wearing black pants, black boots with a gold buckle, and a burgendy tail coat. I couldn't see his face. It looked like Nicholas knew who this was. I started to ask, but he interrupted.

"It's my brother," he said, "I don't know why he's here, and I don't want to find out." He looked at me with with sincere eyes, "I don't want him to hurt you."

"Why would he hurt me?"

"Let's just say that even though we're family, we act completely different. He's younger than me, more volitle than I am. He has yet to learn that humans aren't to be attacked. You stil have the scent of a human, and he might mistake you for one. I'm sure that I could hold him off, but I don't want to take any changed."

I nodded and slid down to the floor by his legs. He smiled and slid down next to me. He put his hand behind my head and gently kissed my lips. ♥

"I promise that I will keep you safe," he whispered, "No matter what, I will be here for you."

"I know," I replied quietly, "I trust you completely."

Roughly 20 minutes later, Nick's brother left the house. He set the envelope on the porch before walking away. Just to be safe, we stayed hidden for another 5 minutes and then got up and went back upstairs.

He told me to stay hidden while he made his way to the front door. I was too worried and scared not to. taking deep breaths, Nicholas casually opened the door, revealing the letter. He carefully picked it up, came into the house. He walked over to where I was hiding, and helped me up. We went into the piano room to read it.

The envelope had a wax seal in the shape of a bat. It looked almost like a crest. It was addressed to "Nicholas Youngblood and 'His Guest'"

"I don't know how he, or whoever sent this, knew that you were here."

"Can we open it?" I asked hesitantly.

"We may. I hope all is well. I believe this is fron an old group of vampires. I recognize the symbol," He slowly lifted the wax, opening it. He took out the parchment paper that was inside. On it was a hand-written letter. It read:

What Happened That Night...

At the moment, Nick is in the other room. He's reading a book. I hope I'm not being too loud with the typing. :D
So, not much has happened in the last few days here. I was just wondering what to do, and then I found an old typewriter in the back of a closet in the basement.
OH! What happened the other night:
I did pass out because of the full change. YES it was blood. Don't act all grossed out. I'm a vampire for pete's sake.
Nicholas told me that I almost rejected the change but somehow I didn't. He gave me his blood to drink, so maybe that's what helped. Questions? Concerns? None? Well if you think of one, comment and I'll try to help ya out!!
Haha, I was about to ask you how you were doing. ;D You can't talk back can you?
If for some reason you are reading this, I hope you have permission from me...if not...well you're soon going to find out now won't you...
JUST KIDDING!!
Read away stranger!!
For you who have just started reading about my life, I met Nicholas on my way home one night. He changed me into a vampire. THUS THE NAME: Emma the Vampire.

Explination

Okay. I've had some questions that I should probably answer:
"Why Emma?"

Well, vampires have a talent, basically, that they know who, deep in their hearts, wants to become a night person. Nick knew that I, for years, wanted to be a vampire. I love them. I just didn't know they existed, well,
I thought they didn't, though I really hoped that they did.

The vampires learn different things about the person by asking their person's family and friends. They also have the power to make humans forget what is needed. They basically hypnotize them.
So, in a nutshell, vampires are amazing.
They are intelligent and witty, and can get pretty much anything from anyone.
Confused...or do you completely understand?!

Youngblood Mansion

Five hours later Nicholas’ car pulled up to an old mansion in the middle of nowhere.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot to tell you where I live. I was born and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma. “Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain...” Yeah, I’ve heard that before. Ponca is basically your normal run-of-the-mill small town in the northern part of the state. It’s a place where no matter where you go, you always see someone you know; from either school, church, neighbors, friends’ friends, or maybe even people you just seem to run into a lot. There’s only one Catholic Church, a bunch of other churches, a couple of elementary schools, a middle school spit in two, and a high school. (Go Wildcats!!) Not much big action happens around here, so everyone knows that it’s safe to just go somewhere. Parents don’t have to worry about their kids as much as they would if they lived in a big city. Until Nicholas came along, the most interesting thing that happened to me was a school dance at the Marland Mansion. I am the kind of girl that when someone asks me to a dance, it’s a huge deal. My mom goes crazy on my dress, hair, and makeup, even though I know that it’s not necessary, but I go along with it to make her happy. It's fun, you know?

But other than that, I have the same routine every day. I honestly thought that I always would have the same routine...but Nicholas changed that.

**back to the dark, scary place... ;D jk**

So he took my bags from the car and lead me towards the front door. I must admit I was curious about what was going on, but somehow, I wasn't scared. It must have been for the fact that I was a vampire, and vamps aren't scared of anything. ^-^

The door opened into a grand entryway. The split staircase added to the splendor of the room. A white grand piano was sitting to the left of the door in a small room. I started towards it, hoping to play a short bit, but Nick grabbed my arm and led me to the right where a hidden door was revealed from behind a long, velvet curtain.

We quickly walked down the steep, spiral staircase. I suppose it must have been dark to the human eye. I could see just fine.

"Come on! We must hurry before the change really begins," he said in a stern voice. I knew he meant what he said, even though I didn't know what he meant by it.

All of a sudden, I felt strange, almost like I was mad...and sad...and happy...all at the same time. Nicholas noticed the difference in me, and quickly picked me up and ran. I don't remember much of what happened just then. I remember him lying me down on a bed and giving me something to drink. It was warm and thick, like hot chocolate on a cold winter night. I'm fairly sure that I fell asleep shortly thereafter.

After Transformation

I woke up in my bedroom. Nothing really processed through my mind for a few minutes. I lie there wondering how I got back to my house and what had really happened to me last night. The first thing that came back was the guy. I never got to ask him his name. He knew mine so I probably just forgot. I wondered if I’d ever see him again, probably not, but it was worth thinking about. He was so perfect, from his hair to his clothes to that wonderful accent of which I adored. Wait I thought Am I a vampire? I quickly rushed into by bathroom and looked in my mirror. What I saw astounded me, well, what wasn’t there astounded me. I made no reflection in the glass! I felt my teeth with my tongue and sure enough, there were sharp as a needle.

"Wow," I thought, "I'm a freakin' vamp!" Just then, my brother started pounding on the door.
"Get out! I need to go!"
"Make me. I'm busy."
"I'll tell mom."
Uh oh. They couldn't know about this. I really didn't need them to put me through some praying circle or something like that. They were big into the church. I was too, but I couldn't stand that they really disapproved of vamps. I mean, seriously, what did they do to you?
"Emma!! Get out now. I'm getting mom."
"I'm coming."
I opened the door and slithered through the thin opening so he couldn't see that I made no reflection.
"Five years later she crawls out of her hole."

"Love ya too," I scowled at him.

My brother is ten and thinks that he knows everything. It gets pretty annoying. He interrupts me all the time. Even when I'm watching my favorite show: Moonlight.
Here's a picture of the main characters:

See the guy in the middle? His name is Mick St. John. He's my favorite character. He's so hot! Him and the two others dressed in black are vampires. The girl on the right is named Beth. She is a reporter and is really good friends with Mick. Mick + Beth=Macbeth. Heh heh. She's let him bite her on the arm when he almost died and she also kissed him in one episode. Here's that picture.

If you ever get the chance, WATCH THIS SHOW! Episodes are on Friday at 9pm/8pm central on CBS. If you like vampires, you will LOVE it.

Okay, back to what happened.

After I walked away from my brother, I went into the kitchen because I was hungry. I know that so many people think that vamps can't eat normal food, but it's a lie. We can eat food. It decreases our hunger but not our thirst. We do drink blood. To us it tastes like a warm, very delicious flavor. Humans taste a salty, much less pleasing taste. That's really the reason humans don't drink it. They really could, but they just choose not to.
When I got to the kitchen, I opened the fridge and grabbed the cheese, ham, and of course, my favorite condiment: mustard. The thing is, for some reason I really like mustard. I did a science project in 8th grade about which brand would freeze the quickest. Yeah, weird, I know. I'm usually like that, but people like me just the way I am. Even if I'm obsessed with mustard and vampires.
So, I made my sandwich on whole-wheat bread and took it out to the porch to eat it. The door creaked as I opened it and thankfully, neither my mom nor my brother heard it. I let out a sigh of relief and closed the door.
Outside, it was about 50° F with a slight breeze that made me shiver, but oddly enough, even though I was only wearing blue jeans and a thin three-quarter-sleeved black top and my famous Converse, I wasn’t cold. I took my sandwich and trotted down to the next-to-last step and sat down. I munched off the crust and just started to take a bite of the middle when he walked up to me.
"How have you been my dear?” he asked me.
“Um, hi, yeah, I’ve been good, great actually! What about you?”
“I’m content,” he smiled. “I see you are a night person now.”
“I’ve always been a night person, but now I can live that life all the time.”
He chuckled slightly and looked to his right, “Just remember, you chose this path of night, not I.”
“Why would you say...”
“Just remember for when you’re five hundred years old and truly wish you could die.”
I looked at the ground, “Okay.”
He slowly walked up to me, and tilted my chin up with two fingers. “And also remember that I will always be here if you need anything, anything at all.” He kissed me lightly on the lips.
“I will,” I said quietly.
He started to walk away and then I remembered something, "What's your name?"
He turned around, "Nicholas," he said, "When you need me, call my name three times and I will be by your side."
"Okay, thank you," I said and smiled.
I turned to walk up the stairs. I grabbed my sandwich and opened the front door. My brother was still in the bathroom, thank gosh, because if he saw Nicholas he definitely would have told my parents. Then they would ask me a ton of questions that I don't think I could answer. They would most likely send me away to like a crazy home or something. My friend wanted to hire someone for my addiction to vamps, so if I told them I was turned, they wouldn't believe me. I was freaking out. What should I do? I asked myself.
"Pack your things and leave a note that you will be back in a few weeks," Nicholas said all of a sudden.
"What? Wait, can you read minds too?"
"No," he laughed, "You just look like you didn't know what to do, like a lost puppy."
"Oh," I said quietly, "I'll go pack. I'll be out in an hour."
"I'll count the minutes," he replied.
I walked inside and into my room. Grabbing my suitcase and backpack from my closet, I opened my drawers and put in some clothes. I packed three pairs of jeans, a bunch of different shirts (ranging from t-shirts to polos to three-quarter sleeved cotton tops),undies, and some socks. I already had on my Converse, so I didn't need to pack them. I threw my iPod, laptop, and a few other things into my backpack. I found a sheet of paper and a pen and quickly scribbled a note to my parents. I told them that I was going away for a few weeks and I would okay, that they shouldn't worry. As I was leaving my room, my brother came out of the bathroom. I quickly hid my things and casually walked past him into the living room. He looked at me funny, nodded, and went back into his room. He was tired. I could tell. It was only like 4:00am.
Once his door was closed, I set the note on the coffee table, got my things, and went out the front door. Nicholas was standing at the light post.
"Ready to go Emma?"
Of course I was...or so I thought.
I jogged over to him and he took my suitcase. He smiled at me. What a sweet smile to compliment that gorgeous face. His gorgeous face complimented his hot body. He must have have a six-pack. It looked like he worked out a lot, but not too much to get too buff. He was the perfect shape and size. Now that we were under a light, I could see that his hair was pitch black, and his eyes were a misty gray color.
"Follow me," he said.
I did. He lead me to a dark red Porche. Its was a very nice car in perfect condition. Nicholas opened the trunk and placed my suitcase in it. He held his hand out for my backpack, and I gave it to him. He put that in there too. When he closed the hatch, he opened the passenger-side door and nodded at me to get in. I hesitated a moment, but eventually got in. He closed the door and got in on the driver's side. When the car was started, we took off town the road. Not too fast, but quickly none the less. I sat back and relaxed. I had the feeling that this was going to be a long ride.

Meet me.

Hello, as you probably already know, I'm a vampire. All the other vampires you'll ever know say that they hate their life and all that crap, but as for me, I love it! I was turned while I was walking home from school about two years ago. I was late getting out because of choir practice, so it was just getting dark. As I was walking, I thought I heard someone call my name. When I turned around, no one was there, so I turned back around and almost ran into a person. Well a guy. A very cute guy with black hair, a gray button-down shirt, jeans, and my favorite shoes: Converse. He looked as if he had just come from something important. I really hoped that he didn't have a girlfriend. He almost reminded me of a spy but much, much cuter. Did I mention that he was GORGEOUS?!

"I'm sorry but do you know where Fairway Lane is?" he asked me in a British accent.

That's weird I though to myself that's the street that I lived on. He must be in the family that moved into the vacant house a few houses down from mine.

"If you don't know, it's alright."

"No, sorry, I was just zoning off like usual. Yeah, I know where the street is. Follow me, I'm headed there myself."

"Thanks," he smiled at me and we started to walk and chat.

He asked me what my interests were and what I was good at. I told him that I sing and play piano. Oh, and I was totally obsessed with vampires. When I told him that he seemed surprised. "Vampires?"

"Yeah, they're really cool to learn about. I really wish they were real. I'd die to become one. Every time I think about them I become happy."

"Why?"

"I don't really know, actually. I just do."

"They are real. They're just in hiding. Most don't want humans to know they exist anymore. We were pursecuted enough long ago."

"You say 'we' as if you were a vampire."

He swallowed and turned towards me, holding me by the shoulders, "You swear you won't tell anyone, anyone at all?"

"Tell anyone what?"

"That I'm a vampire"

"I won't. Who would believe me anyway? They'd probably think that I was dreaming something and that I'm just making up another vampire story."

"Thank you," he started to walk away from me, but then he stopped and turned around, "Would you still like to become a vampire Emma?"

"Yes...how do you know my name?"

"Do you honestly think that I accidently stumbled upon you? I've been watching you for months now, trying to learn more about you."

"Hold on, so how'd you get the information about me?"

"Mostly from your friends and teachers. I have a way of erasing memory. I use them for what I need them for and then I clear their memory of any thought of me or my questions."

"Sneaky."

He laughed and smiled at me.

"Do you still need to come to my street?"

"Yeah, I live there. Three houses down from you. The black one."

"Really? I've never seen you out before. Oh yeah, vamps can't be out in the sun, duh."

"Well, just not for very long."

"So, are you going to bite me?"

"You really want to become like me? You might not like it. It's not like you can change back; it's permanent."

"Yes. I really love vampires and I would never want to change back."

"Okay, but remember, you wanted this, not me." He leaned into me, showing his fangs.

Everything went black.
